# Inbox

The inbox is your notification center for collaboration activity. It collects events that involve you so you don't have to revisit memos to find replies.

## What shows up [#what-shows-up]

The inbox surfaces collaboration notifications:

* **Comments** — someone commented on one of your memos
* **Mentions** — someone mentioned you with `@` in a memo or comment
* **Space invitations** — someone invited you to join a Space on this instance

Rows show the sender, activity, and time, with memo context when available. The sidebar Inbox action carries an unread-count badge. Inbox remains global when you select a Space.

## Reading and filtering [#reading-and-filtering]

Open the inbox to see notifications newest-first. The contextual sidebar filters the list:

* **All** — every notification
* **Unread** — notifications you haven't opened yet
* **Archived** — notifications you've cleared

Clicking a comment or mention notification opens the related memo or comment and marks the notification read.

## Respond to a Space invitation [#respond-to-a-space-invitation]

An invitation shows the Space, sender, and proposed role. Choose **Accept** to join or **Decline** to dismiss the invitation. After accepting, choose **Open space** to browse it.

You do not gain membership until you accept. Archiving or deleting the notification does not accept the invitation; you can also manage pending invitations in **Settings → Spaces**. See [Spaces](/docs/usage/spaces) for member roles and visibility rules.

## Managing notifications [#managing-notifications]

* **Archive** an unread notification to clear it without opening the memo
* **Delete** a read or archived notification to remove it permanently
* notifications whose required memo is missing or unreadable are omitted; deleting a memo does not itself delete independent inbox records

## Good habits [#good-habits]

* skim **Unread** regularly so mentions and comments don't pile up
* archive notifications once you've acted on them to keep the list focused
* pair the inbox with [reactions and comments](/docs/usage/reactions-comments) as your main collaboration loop
