Memos can support different ways of thinking without forcing every record into the same system. These guides combine the timeline, Markdown, tags, filters, pins, Relations, and Archive into complete practices you can adapt to your own needs.

## Choose the question you need to answer [#choose-the-question-you-need-to-answer]

| If you want to know… | Start with… |
| -------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------- |
| What happened, and what still deserves attention? | [Bullet Journal](/docs/guides/bullet-journal) |
| What is the next action, and where does each commitment stand? | [Getting Things Done](/docs/guides/getting-things-done) |
| How does this evidence change what I understand? | [Zettelkasten](/docs/guides/zettelkasten) |

Start with one primary practice instead of applying all three sets of tags to every memo. You can connect their outputs when useful: a journal observation may become a Zettelkasten idea, and a developed idea may create a concrete GTD action.
